The game

Spin. Pick.
Survive.

This game hands you the what-if. Spin for a legendary franchise season, build a six-man line from goal out, and let the simulation run all 82 games. Gretzky feeding Lemieux with Hasek behind them is suddenly not a barstool argument — it is a season you can actually watch unfold.

Start with your first spin
  1. 01

    Spin team + season

The reels lock one exact historical team for the next position.

  2. 02

    Draft your Starting Line

Choose an eligible legend, balance rating with chemistry, then spin again.

  3. 03

    Simulate 82 games

A seeded engine puts the completed lineup through the whole campaign in seconds.

Your record, lineup and seed travel together, so every shared result is genuine.

Rules that reward knowledge

You draft six slots: a goaltender, two defencemen, a centre and both wingers. Each pick starts with team and season reels, which lock an exact historical roster for the open position. Fully modelled seasons expose the whole eligible squad; some older records use a focused position shortlist. Chemistry rewards picks who actually shared a dressing room.

Easy gives three re-rolls, Normal one, and Hard none while hiding ratings. You can restrict the archive by era before the draft. Those settings turn each run into a different test: lean on visible ratings, trust your hockey knowledge, or preserve a reroll for a position where the landed roster is thin.

The season is the full 82 games, and every one of them is won or lost outright — no ties and no overtime-loss consolation point in this simulation, just two points for every win on your final card. Go 82-0 and you reach IMMORTAL — UNBEATEN; win 80% or more and you claim the PRESIDENTS’ TROPHY tier; from there the ladder descends through Stanley Cup, Conference Finals, Playoffs and Bubble Team to the Draft Lottery. As everywhere on Go Unbeaten, the sim is seeded — share your result and anyone can replay the identical campaign.

Legendary NHL squads

Every spin lands on a real team and season. These are some of the era-defining rosters already waiting in the pool.

The real-world benchmark

82‑0

An unbeaten season on ice

The gold standard is the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens, who went 60-8-12 over an 80-game season — just eight defeats all year and a then-record 132 points — and finished the job by winning the Stanley Cup. Many consider that team the best in NHL history, and even they lost once every ten games.

The longest anyone has gone without losing is 35 games: the 1979-80 Philadelphia Flyers’ unbeaten streak, still the longest in major North American pro sports. A full unbeaten season has never happened in the NHL, which is exactly the gap between real history and this game’s top tier.

Quick answers

Know before you spin.

No account, no hidden re-simulation and no hour-long tutorial. Pick the rules, build the roster and let the season answer the argument.

01

Has an NHL team ever gone a whole season unbeaten?

No. No NHL team has ever completed a season without a defeat. The closest benchmark is the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens, who lost only 8 of their 80 games on the way to the Stanley Cup.

02

What is the longest unbeaten run in NHL history?

The 1979-80 Philadelphia Flyers went 35 games without a loss — still the longest unbeaten streak in major North American professional sport.

03

Are there ties or overtime losses in the game?

No. Every one of the 82 simulated games produces a winner and a loser, and your points total is simply two per win. An unbeaten season here means winning all 82.

04

Which teams can I draft from?

The team and season reels draw from a growing archive of notable NHL rosters across multiple eras. Each result identifies one exact team-season for the next pick, so two versions of the same franchise remain distinct historical squads.
