Play World Cup modeWhat is the World Cup draft game?
It is a quick, replayable squad builder wrapped around tournament football. One spin hands you a nation and a tournament year — Brazil 2002, France 2018, Argentina 2022, England 1966 — and you draft a starting XI from that squad. A seeded simulation then runs your team through a full seven-game World Cup: three group matches followed by the Round of 16, Quarter-Final, Semi-Final and Final.
The group stage gives you a little margin: one defeat is survivable, but a second ends your run on the spot. From the Round of 16 onwards it is sudden death — any loss sends you home. Win the final and the game crowns you World Champions.
If you have played 82-0.com (can your drafted team win all 82 games of an NBA season?) or 38-0-0.com (the Premier League equivalent), the loop will feel familiar — both are excellent, but each lives inside a single league, and neither offers a World Cup mode in the browser. Go Unbeaten is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with either game, or with FIFA, any league or any governing body.
Spin a nation
The wheel lands on one of eight legendary footballing nations and a tournament year, from Brazil 1970 to Argentina 2022. You get two re-rolls if you do not fancy it.
Draft your XI
Build a starting eleven from that squad. Every player has an overall rating, and chemistry rewards picks who actually shared a dressing room or an era.
Survive seven games
Three group matches, then four straight knockout rounds. Win the final and you are World Champions — lose along the way and the run is over.
Why going unbeaten at a World Cup is so hard
Tournament football is unforgiving in a way league football is not. Over a 38-game season, a bad afternoon costs you three points; in a knockout round it costs you everything. That is why perfect World Cups are vanishingly rare in real life: Brazil's 1970 side famously won all six of their matches on the way to the title, and Brazil won all seven in 2002 — flawless runs you can count on one hand across nearly a century of tournaments.
The simulation mirrors that pressure. Your XI's average rating plus a chemistry bonus sets a per-match win probability — and even an elite squad is never guaranteed a result, because the sim caps any single match at a 98.5% win chance. Stack seven games together and the maths turns cruel quickly. Picking the highest ratings is not enough either: teammates who shared a club, nation or era link together, and chemistry directly raises your squad strength. The six result tiers
Every run ends in one of six tiers, matched to the round you actually reached — the trophy on your share card always reflects the campaign you played.
World Champions
You won the final and lifted the trophy.
Finalist
You reached the final, but it slipped away.
Semi-Final
A run to the last four.
Quarter-Final
Out in the last eight.
Round of 16
Through the group, out in the first knockout round.
Eliminated
Two group-stage defeats. Spin again.
Share your run — and prove it
Every result gets its own link and a share card showing your tier, record and squad. Because the simulation is seeded — the same seed and the same lineup always replay the same campaign — a shared run is not just a claim, it is reproducible. Send the link to a friend and the result they see is exactly the tournament you played.
Prefer the long grind of a league season? Try the 38-0 challenge, where the question becomes whether your drafted side can get through 38 Premier League matchdays without a single defeat.
Frequently asked
Is the World Cup draft game free?
Yes — completely free, in the browser, with nothing to download. The game is ad-supported, which keeps every mode free to play.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no email. Your result is encoded straight into the share link, so there is nothing to register and nothing stored on a server.
How are players rated?
Every player carries an overall rating based on their real career. Your squad rating blends the average of your XI with a chemistry bonus, and that combined strength drives your per-match win probability.
Which nations can I draft?
Eight footballing giants, each pinned to an era-defining tournament: Brazil 2002, France 2018, Argentina 2022, Germany 2014, Italy 2006, Spain 2010, England 1966 and the Netherlands 1974. More nations and tournaments are on the roadmap.
Can I replay a run?
As many times as you like. Each run gives you two re-rolls on the spin, and every new draft produces a fresh seeded simulation — so no two campaigns need ever be the same.
