The 38-0 Game

Spin a Premier League club, draft a legendary XI, and simulate all 38 matches. One question hangs over every run: can you get through a whole season without losing?

Play the 38-0 game

The premise

Every run starts with a spin. The wheel lands on a club and one of its most storied eras — think Arsenal 2003-04 or Manchester City 2023-24 — and that squad becomes your player pool. Not feeling it? You get 2 re-rolls, and then you are committed.

Next you pick a shape: 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. Your formation decides exactly which eleven positions you fill, from goalkeeper to striker. If you are not sure which suits your squad, our formations guide breaks down the trade-offs.

Then comes the draft. As you pick, the game tracks chemistry — players who shared a club or nation form full links, while players from the same era form half links. Chemistry feeds straight into your squad strength, and strength drives your win probability across all 38 simulated matches. Matches can be won, drawn or lost, so a single sloppy defeat is all it takes to end the dream.

The Invincibles never went 38-0

Arsenal's 2003-04 side went the entire Premier League season unbeaten — 26 wins, 12 draws, 0 losses. It remains the only unbeaten campaign in Premier League history, and it earned them a gold trophy and the nickname "The Invincibles".

But even they drew 12 games. Nobody — not Arsenal, not Manchester City's 100-point centurions, not Liverpool at their peak — has ever won all 38. That is the fantasy this game exists for: a perfect season that football history says is impossible. Going unbeaten in the simulation earns you Invincibles status; winning every single match puts you somewhere no real team has ever been.

The tier ladder

Every campaign lands somewhere on the ladder. Where your season ends up depends on wins, draws and — above all — defeats.

How it compares to 38-0-0.com

38-0-0.com popularised this format and deserves the credit — a simple, brilliant idea that spread fast. If you have played it, you already know the loop. Go Unbeaten is our take on the same challenge, built to go further than a single league.

Alongside the Premier League club mode, there is a World Cup mode with a real knockout bracket, plus four American sports — including the NBA's 82-0 challenge, NFL, NHL and MLB. Every simulation is seeded, so a shared result can always be replayed and verified. And it all runs free in your browser — no app to download, no account to create.

To be clear: Go Unbeaten is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with 38-0-0.com, the Premier League, or any club or governing body.

Frequently asked

What is the 38-0 game?

It is a draft-and-simulate challenge built around the Premier League season: 38 matches, zero defeats. You spin for a club and era, draft a starting XI into your chosen formation, then simulate the full campaign and see what tier your squad earns.

Has a real team ever gone 38-0?

No. The closest the Premier League has come is Arsenal in 2003-04, who went the whole season unbeaten at 26 wins, 12 draws and 0 losses. Winning all 38 has never been done — which is exactly why it makes such a good game.

What if I don’t like the club I spin?

You get 2 re-rolls per run. Use them wisely — once they are gone, you draft with whatever the spinner gives you.

Which formations can I play?

Five classic shapes: 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 3-5-2 and 3-4-3. Your formation decides which positions you draft, so it shapes the whole run.

Are results random every time?

The spin is random, but every simulation is seeded: the same seed and the same lineup always replay the same campaign, so shared results are always genuine.

Is Go Unbeaten affiliated with 38-0-0.com?

No. Go Unbeaten is an independent fan-made game and is not affiliated with 38-0-0.com, the Premier League, or any club or governing body.
