The United States put four past Paraguay in Group D. A 4-1 scoreline doesn't leave much room for doubt — that's a statement, not a squeak through.

Less comfortable elsewhere. Qatar and Switzerland shared the points at 1-1 in Group B, the sort of result that keeps everyone honest and settles nothing. Same story in Group C, where Morocco took a point off Brazil. A draw against the five-time winners will do nicely for the Moroccans; the Brazilians will want sharper.

Nil-nil it wasn't, but two stalemates means Groups B and C are still anyone's to win.
